NHL Returning with Animated Graphics from Undefined Creative

-

Undefined CreativeHockey fans who have been waiting patiently for the abridged season to continue and wrap-up will have a very different experience when the NHL (National Hockey League) returns with the Stanley Cup Qualifiers and Playoffs this month. Instead of fans in the seats around the ice, the players will instead be surrounded by a mix of audio, lighting and video, including elaborate animated graphics created by Undefined Creative.

The Brooklyn-based company that has been working with the NHL for ten years was called upon to producer an extensive array of “Return to Play” motion graphics, over 1,000 individual deliverables made up of 20 unique animations for each of the 24 teams, as well as generics for the NHL, the Eastern/Western Conference and Stanley Cup itself.

Undefined Creative began production on the graphics on July 6, basing them on motion graphics they had created for the new NHL headquarters in Manhattan. They had to work faster than usual to have the graphics ready with a two-week turnaround in order to have final renders in time for games in Toronto and Edmonton.

You can watch Undefined Creative’s “Return to Play” Sizzle Reel below, and learn more about the company at their official site.
