Joel Harlow, a special effects makeup artist in Hollywood, will debut a prosthetic werewolf makeup during a live application at Cinema Makeup School on Feb. 27. The demonstration will cover the entire application process and will be open to the public.
Harlow, who won an Oscar for his work on Star Trek (2008) and is nominated again this year for The Lone Ranger, has long collaborated with actor Johnny Depp. Films featuring Depp in a Harlow-applied makeup, including Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Alice In Wonderland and Dark Shadows, have grossed billions worldwide. In 2014, Harlow and Depp will collaborate again on Transcendence, marked for a Summer release.
Harlow has long collaborated with Cinema Makeup School, where he has taught makeup classes and given other public demonstrations in recent years.
