MELS Announces Senior Management Appointments

-

MELSMartin Carrier, President of MELS, is pleased to announce the appointment of Julie Brabant as Senior Director of Operations, Richard Cormier as Vice President, Digital Creative Services, and Fréderic Boucher as Vice-President, Equipment  Rental Operations.

“We have a clear strategic vision for the coming years and these three appointments will help us execute on it,” says Martin Carrier. “Julie, Richard and Fréderic have the expertise and agility  to develop MELS’ reach to its full potential on the local and international scenes, while  maintaining the quality standards and customer service for which we are known.”

After several years at TVA as Director of Technical Operations, Julie Brabant is joining MELS to oversee operations management of our generator activities, the production mobiles service and MELS’ vehicle fleet. She will be responsible for maintaining the sustainability of these activities in a fast-changing technological landscape. Julie brings to MELS her strong leadership skills, organizational savvy, and the expertise acquired in the course of more than 20 years in key positions at Radio-Canada, Global and Télévision Quatre-Saisons.

Richard Cormier has been promoted to Vice-President, Digital Creative Services and will also continue to serve as Executive Producer of Virtual Production. Richard has been with MELS  since late 2020. He has a long track record in content creation in Canada and the US, including with Moment Factory and Buzz Image, and is a well-known figure on several continents. He has appeared on Caldwell’s “Top 40 Under 40” list, Canada’s most prestigious honour for young leaders. In his new role, Richard adds the visual effects department to his responsibilities. He will support the company’s technological shift to an integrated digital offering.

Fréderic Boucher has been appointed Vice-President, Equipment Rental Operations. Fréderic has worked for MELS for 30 years. He was previously director of the camera rental department.  With this appointment, he adds the lighting, grip and cabling departments to his responsibilities.  Known for his loyalty, commitment and competence, Frédéric is well equipped to take on the challenge of improving the organization of these operations and capturing synergies.

The three appointments are effective immediately.
