Kevin O’Connell Joins Todd-Soundelux

TODD-SOUNDELUX announced the addition of re-recording mixer Kevin O’Connell. O’Connell will combine his role as re-recording mixer with a senior-level creative position, providing oversight to feature film business development, client services, creative talent and strategic initiatives.

“Bringing a talent of Kevin O’Connell’s caliber to our company is indicative of our strong commitment to the undisputed creative leadership in the independent postproduction sound services business,” said David F. Alfonso, owner of TODD-SOUNDELUX. “Further, we are delighted to be able to give the members of our creative team a strong voice as part of our group.”

With a career spanning four decades, O’Connell’s work has been recognized with 20 Academy Award nominations. O’Connell’s extensive list of mixing credits includes iconic titles such as Transformers, Spider-Man, Pearl Harbor, Twister, Days of Thunder, and Top Gun.  O’Connell, who recently completed a term as the representative of the Academy’s sound branch to its board of governors, recently completed work on 47 Ronin for director Carl Rinsch and Last Vegas for director Jon Turteltaub.

Animated Storyboards Opens Toronto Office

Animated Storyboards announced that it has launched a new office in Toronto. Maria Hanafy will lead the new studio as managing director, along with four additional staffers - a director, producer, marketing associate and animator/editor. This marks the 10th office for Animated Storyboards, with offices in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, London, São Paulo, Bangkok, Tel Aviv, Düsseldorf and Shanghai. The 4,300-square-foot office will collaborate closely with sister facilities, whose global infrastructure currently includes nearly 300 full-time in-house illustrators, designers, directors, producers and 2D and 3D artists. The facility includes three edit suites, a state-of-the-art audio studio, a conference room and a spacious lobby area for client use.
