
The American Film Institute (AFI) has announced that they will honor actress Diane Keaton with the 45th AFI Life Achievement Award at a Gala Tribute taking place on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at The Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, CA. In addition, celebrated cinematographer Frederick Elmes will be presented with the 27th Annual Franklin J. Schaffner Alumni Medal, recognizing his extraordinary creative talents. Information on the televised special — AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute to Diane Keaton — including award presenters and airdate will be announced in the coming weeks. The special will air on TNT in mid-June 2017, followed by an encore presentation on its sister network, Turner Classic Movies (TCM). This marks the fifth year that the AFI special has aired on Turner networks.
