The Batman, Elvis, Pam & Tommy Lead Nominations for 2023 MUAHS Guild Awards

The Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild (MUAHS, IATSE Local 706) announced its nominations for the 2023 MUAHS Guild Awards, the 10th Anniversary of these awards, presented by HASK® Beauty. Winners will be honored at the awards gala, hosted by actress Melissa Peterman, on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at The Beverly Hilton hotel.

Matt Reeves‘ The Batman received three nominations in the film categories, as did Baz Luhrmann‘s ElvisEverything Everywhere All at Once received two nominations for Contemporary Hair and Makeup, as did AmsterdamBabylon, and Blonde in the Period Hair and Makeup categories.

The Hulu mini-series, Pam and Tommy, received three nominations in the television series categories, for period hair and make-up, as well as for special make-up effects. Abbott Elementary and Emily in Paris received two nominations in the contemporary categories for television series, while Stranger Things also received two nominations, both for its makeup (period and special make-up effects).

The MUAHS Awards represent a spectrum of outstanding achievements in make-up and hair styling artistry in motion pictures, television, commercials and live theater. Today’s announcement was made by Julie Socash, IATSE Local 706 President.

It was previously announced that Oscar®- and Emmy®-winning make-up artist Steve La Porte, and Emmy-winning hair stylist Josée Normand will receive the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Awards. Emmy -winning make-up artist Fred C. Blau Jr. joins Emmy-winning hair stylist Judy Crown as recipients of the esteemed Vanguard Awards. The Distinguished Artisan award will be announced shortly. Winners will be announced at the Awards Gala on Saturday, February 11, 2023.

Returning as producers of this year’s MUAHS Awards (#MUAHSawards) are IngleDodd Media and Erick Weiss of Honeysweet Creative.
