WGA & DGA: Tersely discussing new media tactics together; LA Councilman has hearings

The following no-frills statement was issued by both the WGA and DGA this afternoon:

LOS ANGELES – The Directors Guild of America and the Writers Guild of America will meet shortly to discuss new media, including what the DGA has developed from its research and studies.

Neither the WGA nor the DGA will have any further comment on the meeting or any of the information shared in the meeting.

Thus the WGA in “no fools they” mode get a hand in discussing that which the directors will inevitably settle for, come the new year.

Meanwhile, on the civic politics side of things, LA City Council rep Herb Wesson – whose district covers downtown/Koreatown areas, as opposed to, say, the Westside– is calling hearings about the strike, and its impact, tomorrow, Wed. the 19th, in front of the the Housing, Community and Economic Development Committee.

If you’d care to email in comments–or go there in person –there is much helpful information on the United Hollywood website
