Representatives of SAG-AFTRA and a special Joint Policy Committee representing the advertising industry have agreed to extend their current contract for commercial production for one week to give themselves more time to negotiate a collective bargaining agreement.
The current Screen Actors Guild Television Recorded Commercials agreement and AFTRA Radio Recorded Commercials agreement were both set to expire March 31. Under the extension, the agreements will remain in effect through April 7.
The JPC and SAG-AFTRA began negotiations, Feb. 14, under a strict media blackout.
