Avid Technology announced that Kirk Arnold has joined the company as executive VP and general manager of its Professional Video business unit, reporting directly to Avid’s new CEO Gary Greenfield, who joined the company in December. Arnold will be responsible for Avid’s products and services for the professional video market – broadcast television, postproduction and media enterprises.
Arnold comes to Avid with more than 25 years of management experience. Prior to joining Avid, she served as vice-chairman and CEO of Keane, a provider of business transformation and outsourcing services. Before that, she was executive VP of product development and management for Fidelity Investments. Prior to Fidelity, Arnold was president and CEO of NerveWire, a venturebacked services business.
But coming from outside the industry, Arnold admitted she has a “steep learning curve.”
Avid announced in December that it was pulling out of NAB in order to focus on a series of customer- centric events, and Kirk stressed that that was still the plan. “We want to take those resources that would have been invested there and use them to foster a continuous open dialog with our customers,” she said.
