Feature editor Todd Miller has joined editorial house Beast for commercial representation. This follows last month’s appointment of feature editor William Kerr, ACE.
“Todd joining our roster reinforces our already diverse talent offering,” said Beast founding partner Igor Kovalik. “He brings with him a lot of technical experience working with action and special effects. Commercial clients will really benefit from his feature experience.”
Miller’s foray into commercials came naturally after collaborating with notable directors who made a mark in the commercial world such as Michael Bay, Simon West and Jonas Åkerlund. Todd has worked on a wide spectrum of popular movies including fast-paced action films, like Armageddon, The Mechanic, Transformers and more recently Expendables 2, as well as romantic comedies like Beastly and Under the Tuscan Sun.
Miller admitted the demands of the feature and commercial spheres are colliding. “As the commercial medium changes to embrace virals and long form, visual storytelling takes center stage,” he said. “In that respect, features and commercials are very similar. However, in commercials, it’s critical to pack it all into the shortest amount of time.”
“Beast is a progressive group with a roster full of thoughtful editors. I look forward to being a part of such a talented group of people,” said Miller.
