L.A.-based visual production company BiG MACHiNE announced that executive producer Sean Owolo has been promoted to company partner alongside co-founders/creative directors Steve Petersen and Ken Carlson. Owolo’s new role will allow each of the partners to focus on the core disciplines of BiG MACHiNE’s business – design and animation, live-action production and content.

“My relationship with my original BiG MACHiNE partner Ken [Carlson] began as strong working relationship and then grew into a great friendship,” said Petersen. “And the same has happened with Sean. He’s an incredible human being first – compassionate, thoughtful and honest. And of course, he’s a great businessman. He uses his years of experience and contacts in the entertainment industry to continually grow and strengthen BiG MACHiNE. The world of marketing and content is ever changing, and so is our company. As we evolve into the design studio and content provider we aim to be, Sean is the perfect person to help us guide BiG MACHiNE towards that goal.”

“[Sean’s] expertise and talent have always extended beyond a simple job description,” said Carlson. “Sean has helped our branded content division grow exponentially in the past two years and we’re excited to bring that brand expertise to the commercial world.”

Owolo joined BiG MACHiNE five years ago as executive producer, overseeing business development strategies for new and existing clients, global marketing strategies and executive production on broadcast projects. Prior to that, he was senior director of business development at 3 Ring Circus, where he was responsible for developing new business and maintaining client relations within the broadcast industry.

Owolo previously held senior-level positions at Warner Bros. Music, Priority Records and Universal Music. As senior director of marketing at Unsung Entertainment, he handled clients such as Brandy, Usher and Jaime Foxx on the company’s music label, and facilitated branded partnerships with HP for select Unsung Entertainment artists. He was also a marketing specialist for NYC branding and design firm Alternative Design, working on branding campaigns for such clients as Walt Disney, Vibe and Bad Boy Records.

“It’s truly flattering that BiG MACHiNE has thought enough of my efforts as executive producer and business development here to make me this generous offer,” said Owolo. “I look forward to continuing to build up BiG MACHiNE as one of the premiere visual supply companies out there.”
