Creative editor Carlos Lamas has signed on for exclusive commercial representation at ditch, a Minneapolis-based postproduction studio. He joins the newly expanded editorial staff, housed in a new, larger studio which opened last September.
“I love working in a relaxed, aesthetically-motivated environment with creative, fun people,” Lamas said. “The facilities at ditch are a perfect blend of technology and magic; a comfortable, artistic space with the finest edit suites Minneapolis has to offer. The people at ditch are creative and fun. It’s a natural fit, made even more natural by my existing relationships with many of Ditch’s staffers and freelancers. Only good can come of this.”
Lamas has recently worked on a steady stream of projects with agencies including Target, Peterson Milla Hooks, Best Buy, Gabriel deGrood Brendt, Persuasion USA and Carmichael Lynch. Recent clients include Target, Kmart, Capital One, Caphalon and Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare.
A Minneapolis native, Carlos has been cutting English and Spanish-language commercials for the last decade. A mix of music videos and long-format collaborations with some of the most prolific creators in Minneapolis helps keep his commercial work fresh.
“In most cases you define an editor by their edit style,” said Brody Howard, editor and founder of ditch. “Carlos’ editing, however, is defined his own style. His flair for pacing and attention to the moment in a cut are impeccable. It’s this refreshing approach that first drew my attention to Carlos, and I’m thrilled to have him exclusively as part of the ditch family.”
“Carlos is going to be a great addition to the ditch team,” executive producer Rick Zessar remarked. “He’s a natural fit here and we’re expecting nothing but great things.”
Ditch’s recent client list includes H&R Block, Subaru, Tempur-Pedic, Purina, Best Buy, General Mills, Blue Cross Blue Shield, HealthPartners, Prairie Vodka, Land O’ Lakes, Park Nicollet, Grand Casino, and Nickelodeon Universe.
