Workers at Deluxe Entertainment‘s Culver City postproduction facility voted 92% to be represented by the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees yesterday in a vote conducted by the National Labor Relations Board.
“Postproduction professionals recognize the value of having a voice at work,” said Rob Callahan, national organizer for the Motion Picture Editors Guild (IATSE Local 700), “and today they spoke resoundingly. Deluxe prides itself on offering world-class postproduction talent to its clients, and we look forward to sitting down with the company to negotiate a world-class contract for those employees.”
The facility is located on the Sony Pictures studio lot in Stage 6, the former site of Sony’s Colorworks postproduction facility. Many of the Deluxe Culver City employees are former Colorworks staff who took a cut in pay and benefits when Sony transferred control of the formerly unionized facility to Deluxe earlier this year.
