Post Factory NY has hired Colin Davis as DI producer. Davis, who arrives from a similar position with Company 3, New York, will oversee feature film and documentary projects undergoing editorial conforming, color grading and other finishing services. He will also be involved in developing the facility’s workflow procedures and service offering. In his first project for Post Factory NY, Davis oversaw final color grading and deliverables for the upcoming Lionsgate release American Ultra.

“We’ve been very successful in servicing feature projects through the off-line phase,” said Post Factory NY senior vice president of operations Kim Spikes. “Now we want to carry those projects through the end of postproduction.” Spikes added that Post Factory NY plans to make further improvements to its technical infrastructure and expects to make more staff additions, including colorists and conforming editors with feature experience.

Davis had been a DI producer at Company 3 for the past five years, with credits including The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Foxcatcher and Spike Lee‘s Oldboy. He produced DI services for Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, winner of the grand jury prize and audience award at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, as well as the documentary Brooklyn Castle, an audience award-winner at the 2012 SXSW Film Festival.

Davis said he was attracted by the opportunity to help build a department to serve the needs of Hollywood studios and New York’s fast growing film industry. “We’re looking to ramp up in order to accommodate more studio releases and other feature projects,” he said. “More feature work is coming to New York and we want to take advantage of it.”
