ENVY Expands Sohonet Media Connection to Fifth London Site

-

London-based ENVY Post Production has installed a 1 Gbit/s Sohonet Media Connection connection at its latest site on London’s Windmill Street. ENVY now has 110 offline and 40 online suites across its five London sites, which include offices on Margaret Street, Foley Street and Rathbone Place.

Sohonet has worked with ENVY for more than five years to support its expanding operation and ensure the seamless, secure and high performance delivery of its digital assets across all its sites. In early 2012, customer demand and a particular client deadline meant that ENVY had to acquire a new space quickly and have it fully operational by the beginning of October.

“We took a huge risk trying to get a new facility up and running with full functionality during the London Olympics and subsequent London roadworks ban,” said Jamie Bean, systems technologist at ENVY. “Sohonet went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure a fiber line was installed in our new building as soon as the roadworks embargo was lifted, and we were able to open our new state-of-the-art facility earlier than expected.”

ENVY works on TV programs including factual, drama, comedy, documentaries and light entertainment, as well as design and branding for commercials. The company started in 2006 with a staff of 42 and now has over 230 employees spread over five sites.

“We decided to go with Sohonet over five years ago, when our existing network provider failed to deliver its support promises and we were the only media member on its private network community,” Bean said. “Sohonet not only had a strong reputation for outstanding media expertise and technology support, but it also has the world’s largest private media network community. This means we can connect to and collaborate with some of the leading players in the international film, TV and media industries, whilst being assured that the delivery and receipt of our high-value content is in the safest of hands.”

“Creative companies are recognizing just how vital a role their network infrastructure plays in the creation and delivery of high-value media assets,” said Sohonet’s chief operating officer Damien Carroll. “Those, such as ENVY, that invest in robust network technologies and consistently configure these for optimal performance will ultimately provide the best customer service and will continue to thrive.”
