Optimus Signs Mike Hackett for Nationwide Representation

Optimus announced that editor Mike Hackett has signed on for exclusive nationwide representation. Hackett founded Lucid Editorial in 2009, after working at a number of Los Angeles post shops, including Brass Knuckles, Avenue Edit, Crush Editorial, Filmcore LA and Chrome. He began his editorial career, now spanning almost 20 years, in Los Angeles at T-minus 30.

Hackett has collaborated on many projects within the commercial and feature world, with filmmakers including Olivier Gondry, Janusz Kaminski, Joe Pytka, Jessie Dylan, Pam Thomas, Ray Dillman and Nick Piper, to name a few. He’s worked with ad agencies on assignments for clients such as Ford, Honda, Toyota, Chevy and HP. Along with a background in photography, Hackett is an avid bonsai technician with more than 1,000 exotic bonsai plants. It is his passion for these two seemingly unrelated art forms that brings a traditional, holistic philosophy to his editorial work.

“After having a great experience working with Optimus’ director of sales, Tim Jacobs when he was at Protein Editorial and Filmcore, he introduced me to Therese,” said Hackett. “I have so much respect for Therese, as she has managed some of the best editors this city has ever seen. An opportunity to work with her was paramount. I look forward to introducing many of my current clients to the impressive team at Optimus and developing new client relationships.”
