
Joel Brand has been named director of video post operations at SpotGenie, a provider of digital media services to the advertising, entertainment and broadcast industries.
In his new post, Brand will head a team responsible for assisting SpotGenie clients with the preparation of their spots for air, including video transcoding, closed captioning, slating, editorial, tagging and quality control. He will report directly to company president/CEO Wayne Dykes.
Brand comes to SpotGenie from a 10-year stint at Outback Editorial, (Atlanta, Ga.) where he was, most recently, owner/president and creative postproduction editor. Here he worked closely with the advertising, television and film production communities helping to launch national campaigns for a wide range of clients including The Food Network, the U.S. Marines, Walt Disney Parks, U.S. Virgin Islands Tourism, Levi’s and BlueCross/BlueShield.

Brand graduated from Georgia State University, (Atlanta, Ga.) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in communication where he studied film/cinema/video services. He also attended Emerson College, (Boston, Mass.).
