Quantel announced the appointment of Tim Claman as chief technology officer. Claman brings experience as both a supplier and user of broadcast and postproduction technology. Most recently, as CTO of Avid, he helped shape the company’s technology and product strategies for 14 years. Prior to that Claman worked with other U.S. postproduction facilities, helping them move into the digital age and working on many high-profile film and TV productions. Before working in film and television, Claman was a professional recording engineer and musician in Los Angeles.
“I’m delighted to be joining Quantel at a very exciting time in its development,” Claman said. “Quantel’s ideas and innovations can truly transform our industry and I’m really looking forward to playing a part in making that happen. It’s a natural fit for me.”
“Tim’s skills and experience will be a great asset to Quantel as we bring our exciting revolutionQ software services to market,” said Simon Rogers, Quantel R&D director. “The U.S. has always been a very important market for Quantel and having a CTO of Tim’s capabilities based there will ensure that we stay as close to our customers’ needs and aspirations as possible.”
