Salt Lake City and Women in AV Declare AV Week 2012

Underscoring the contribution of the audio-visual industry on everyday lives, Salt Lake City mayor Peter Corroon, today joined with Cory Schaeffer of Listen Technologies Corporation and Erin Bolton of Pivot Communications, both Utah-based companies and other industry groups including InfoComm, to officially declare Oct. 14 – 20, 2012 as AV Week.

Companies and organizations from around the world will celebrate AV Week with special events at schools, job fairs and community outreach activities.

“AV Week is a great way to build awareness in our community about the industry and to generate interest in careers for women in AV,” Cory Schaeffer, VP of sales worldwide said. “We’re pleased to partner with Salt Lake County and 37 Utah InfoComm members to showcase the value of this exciting industry and its solutions. Utah boasts a wealth of AV professionals in manufacturing, design, consulting, and system integration. We’re proud to be a Utah company and to have our solutions deployed around the world.”

WAVE is organizing a series of special events to take place over the course of AV Week including educational presentations at a local area schools. Schaeffer is hoping to collaborate with other industry women to broaden the activities of AV Week. “This is an important opportunity for us to come together and promote the AV industry,” Schaeffer said. “I encourage my industry associates to join me in creating events for their community.”
