The Art Directors Guild (ADG) has announced the nominations for the 26th Annual Art Directors Guild Awards, which will return to a live ceremony on March 5 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles.
The guild previously announced that it would honor The Power of the Dog filmmaker Jane Campion with its Cinematic Imagery Award, as her films consistently represent the highest level of production design. The ADG will also fete Dune director Denis Villeneuve with the William Cameron Menzies award.
Cruella, Dune, The French Dispatch, In the Heights and West Side Story are likely considered frontrunners in their respective categories, which notably did not include top awards titles such as Belfast, Cyrano, The Power of the Dog and Spencer.
The ADG Awards honor excellence in production design in theatrical motion pictures, television, commercials, music videos, and animated feature films. Michael Allen Glover, ADG (The Alienist) is producing the 2022 ADG Awards, while Emmy-winning production designer Brian J. Stonestreet, ADG joins the team as stage designer after working on top awards shows such as the Golden Globes, the Grammys, and the Billboard Awards.
