Brightline Expands LED SeriesONE for Studio Lights

-

Brightline LEDPennsylvania-based Brightline has announced that it has upgraded its L1.2 and L1.4 LED SeriesOne studio light fixtures with variable color temperature and improved color rendering.

The fixtures will now be available with optimal wireless DMX/RDM control to provide bidirectional RF signal distribution between the transmitter and lighting console. This effectively eliminates the need for DMX cables.

If you’ve understood everything up until that point, then you’ll also be happy to know that an integrated control wheel and digital on-board readout enable users to select precise color temperatures from 3200-5600K (tungsten to daylight). This enhances the DMX control SeriesONE fixtures already offer by adding the ability to set color temperature through a lighting console, with one channel controlling color and a second channel controlling dimming.

The compact L1.2 and its twice-as-powerful complement, the L1.4, minimize their weight by being made of aluminum.

These updated SeriesOne fixtures will start shipping this month.

You can learn more at Brightline’s site.

Vicon Introduces Mobile Mocap at SIGGRAPH

1
Motion capture systems developer Vicon is previewing a futuristic new “Mobile Mocap” technology at SIGGRAPH 2011 in Vancouver. Moving mocap out of the lab and into the field, Vicon's Mobile Mocap system taps several new technologies, many years in the making. At the heart of Mobile Mocap is a very small lipstick-sized camera that enables less obtrusive, more accurate facial animation data. The new cameras capture 720p (1280X720) footage at 60 frames per second. In addition, a powerful processing unit synchronizes, stores, and wirelessly transmits the data, all in a tiny wearable design.
