COVID-19 has been tough on everyone in every field, and while first responders and essential workers are clearly at the forefront of keeping things going during the current pandemic, there’s little denying that COVID-19 has adversely affected almost everyone in the film and television business and particularly crew.
That’s why it was wonderful to read that equipment designer and manufacturer Creative Solutions (CS) was doing something about it, teaming with the non-profit Still Rolling Initiative for Giving Tuesday to help the effort in assisting filmmakers whose ability to work has been adversely affected by COVID-19.
Giving Tuesday is a global day of support focused on building up and donating to communities in need, and CS and Still Rolling are teaming to sell a limited edition “CS x Still Rolling” T-shirt with all the proceeds from sales going to Still Rolling’s charitable assistance fund. Those who buy a T-shirt will also be entered into a CS Giving Tuesday raffle, the winner to receive $3,500 worth of equipment from the CS brands SmallHD, Teradek and Wooden Camera.
Still Rolling Initiative is a non-profit working to raise money to support filmmakers hit by hardships, including COVID-19, as stated in its mission statement: “When we first launched this back in April we wanted to throw a lifeline out to individuals in our industry who lost work due to the COVID-19. Some have gone back to work, but there will always be a need for assistance for many members of our freelance filmmaking community whose livelihood will continue to feel the impact of this pandemic.” Still Rolling is accepting ongoing applications for assistance through their website; they evaluate and offer financial support on a case-by-case basis.”
Creative Solutions is donating a Wireless Director’s Monitor Kit, featuring the newest products from each of their brands, including a SmallHD Indie 7 Smart Monitor, Teradek Bolt 4K LT wireless video system, and Wooden Camera Director’s Monitor Cage V3. Buying a T-shirt will qualify the participant for a single entry into the Giving Tuesday raffle with the winner announced on December 9, 2020.
CS Director of Marketing, Andrew Ng, added, “Still Rolling has found a unique way to support filmmakers and we are excited to partner with them. The filmmaking community’s dedication and resilience have been an inspiration to the Creative Solutions family. We hope that bringing awareness to the Still Rolling Initiative will continue to bring everyone together to uplift and support those who are in need of assistance.”
You can buy CS x Still Rolling t-shirts beginning tomorrow, December 1, at StillRolling.co.
