With December just around the corner — and with it, the release of movies like Avatar: The Way of Water and Babylon — it feels like the appropriate time to take a peek at what the movie release calendar has in store for us in 2023.

Of course, these are just the movies with confirmed release dates, so you won’t find, say, David Fincher‘s The Killer below just yet, but rest assured, that movie will hit Netflix in 2023, just as Martin Scorsese‘s Killers of the Flower Moon and Ridley Scott‘s Napoleon will debut on Apple TV+ at some point next year as well.

No, the below list reflects the movies that Hollywood has assigned release dates thus far, and fear not comic book fans — there are plenty of superhero movies on the horizon, from Q1 titles Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Shazam! Fury of the Gods to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, The Flash, and Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse in Q2, The Marvels and Blue Beetle in Q3, and Kraven the Hunter and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom in Q4.

There are also plenty of non-superhero blockbusters, including Mission: Impossible 7, Fast X, Dune: Part Two, John Wick: Chapter 4, Indiana Jones 5, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, and a new Hunger Games movie.

After a banner year for horror in 2022, next year brings M. Night Shyamalan‘s Knock at the Cabin, Scream 6, a new Saw movie, M3GAN, The Nun 2, Insidious 5, and a legacy sequel to The Exorcist that will bring back Ellen Burstyn.

And fortunately, there will be laughs as well, as Universal will release a new comedy from the SNL trio known as Please Don’t Destroy, while Sony has an R-rated comedy starring Jennifer Lawrence titled No Hard Feelings that sounds like a lot of fun.

Check out the calendar below, and we’ll do our best to keep it updated throughout the year. We strive for accuracy here at Below the Line, so drop us a line on Twitter if you see any egregious omissions or mistakes, as it can be hard to keep track of all the release date changes over a given year. Working together, as a team, I think we have a chance (gulp).
