ACE Eddie Awards Winners Include Top Gun: Maverick and Everything Everywhere All at Once

-

The American Cinema Editors (ACE) announced the winners of the 73rd Annual ACE Eddie Awards in front of a packed house at UCLA’s Royce Hall on a rainy Sunday afternoon.

The Woman King director Gina Prince-Bythewood was honored with the ACE Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year Award, which she received from her Love & Basketball star Sanaa Lathan.

Meanwhile, Bryan Cranston gave the night’s first Career Achievement Award to Lynne Willingham, ACE, having worked with her on both The X-Files and Breaking Bad. The night’s second Career Achievement Award went to Don Zimmerman, ACE, who received his honor from Dean Parisot, director of Galaxy Quest and Fun With Dick and Jane.

Top Gun: Maverick and Everything Everywhere All at Once were the night’s big winners along with Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio and the documentary Fire of Love. On the TV side, the Star Wars series Andor prevailed over Euphoria and Severance, while The Bear beat out Barry and Only Murders in the Building. On the bright side for HBO, The White Lotus won an award, as did Roku’s original movie Weird: The Al Yankovic Story.
