The Cinema Audio Society announced that it has added scoring mixers to three categories in its annual CAS Awards. Scoring mixers will now receive recognition for the categories of motion pictures, television movie or mini-series and DVD original programming. The submissions process opened Oct. 17.
“I am delighted that the CAS board is beginning the expansion of our nominee base this year, starting with scoring mixers in three of our categories,” said David E. Fluhr, CAS president. “Recognizing all mixers who contribute to an outstanding achievement in sound mixing is a long time goal of the CAS, and we will continue moving forward.”
The 48th Annual CAS Awards nominees will be announced Jan. 19 and the awards will be held Feb. 18 in the Crystal Ballroom of the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles.
