Christian Calderon has joined the sales team of Band Pro Film & Digital at the company’s Burbank, Calif. headquarters.

An experienced DP, producer and media specialist, Calderon has worked in the professional broadcast and cinema industry for over 15 years.  In addition to studying at the New York Film Academy and earning a BA in Communications from Cal State Northridge, Calderon has delivered over 600 talk show episodes for the Telemundo Network, and has worked producing over 100 short and long form commercials over the course of his career.

“Christian is a real industry professional,” said Band Pro’s president and CEO, Amnon Band. “No question about it, this man knows production, and he knows the tools of the craft.  He will be a great resource for our clients and we’re proud to have him join the Band Pro team.”

This new addition comes, in part, as a response to the ongoing Latin American industry renaissance. A fluent speaker of Spanish, Italian and English, Calderon will work closely with Band Pro’s international Latin American market client base, as well as local Los Angeles and domestic U.S. clientele.

Vicon Introduces Mobile Mocap at SIGGRAPH

1
Motion capture systems developer Vicon is previewing a futuristic new “Mobile Mocap” technology at SIGGRAPH 2011 in Vancouver. Moving mocap out of the lab and into the field, Vicon's Mobile Mocap system taps several new technologies, many years in the making. At the heart of Mobile Mocap is a very small lipstick-sized camera that enables less obtrusive, more accurate facial animation data. The new cameras capture 720p (1280X720) footage at 60 frames per second. In addition, a powerful processing unit synchronizes, stores, and wirelessly transmits the data, all in a tiny wearable design.
