Change of Ownership at ARRI

-

Robert Arnold, the son of one of the co-founders of ARRI, is selling his 50 percent share in the company to the grandchildren of co-founders Richter/Stahl. Both families have shared responsibility for the company since it was founded 95 years ago.

The company, previously run by both families, will now be in the sole responsibility of the Richter/Stahl family. The Stahl family has expressed its intention to continue pursuing the media business of ARRI in the Bavarian film and media industry as well as internationally.

ARRI has a global presence with offices in Australia, Canada, the U.S., Italy, the UK, Hong Kong and China, and more than 50 service and support partners worldwide.

In addition, ARRI has a global network of rental offices in Munich, Berlin, Cologne, Leipzig, Los Angeles, New York, Miami, London, Vienna, Budapest and Prague.

ARRI also offers a full spectrum of services under the ARRI Media Services banner (ARRI Rental, ARRI Film & TV, ARRI Productions and ARRI Worldsales), including project planning, equipment, on-set and near-set services, postproduction, archiving, and collaboration as co-production partner or global distributor.

Vicon Introduces Mobile Mocap at SIGGRAPH

1
Motion capture systems developer Vicon is previewing a futuristic new “Mobile Mocap” technology at SIGGRAPH 2011 in Vancouver. Moving mocap out of the lab and into the field, Vicon's Mobile Mocap system taps several new technologies, many years in the making. At the heart of Mobile Mocap is a very small lipstick-sized camera that enables less obtrusive, more accurate facial animation data. The new cameras capture 720p (1280X720) footage at 60 frames per second. In addition, a powerful processing unit synchronizes, stores, and wirelessly transmits the data, all in a tiny wearable design.
