J.L. Fisher in conjunction with the SOC, ICG and ASC will host its eighth annual mixer and BBQ lunch, May 18, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at its Burbank facilities.
Attendees will be able to tour the facility and meet suppliers in a relaxed and cordial atmosphere. Exhibitors will include Sony, Canon, Anton Bauer, 3ality Technica, Panavision Remote Systems, BandPro, Mole-Richardson, Matthews Studio Equipment, Innovision Optics, Filmtools, Camera Dynamics (O’Connor), Arriflex (cameras and lighting), Burrell Enterprises, Hot Gears, Kino Flo, Radiant Images, ZGC, Local 80, Geo Film Group, Barger Light, Tiffen, The Camera House, Local 695, Techno-Jib, Hollywood Rentals, Backstage Equipment.
The Society of Camera Operators will present a seminar with members of the SOC, Local 600 (ICG) and Local 80 (grips). Moderated by David Mahlmann, SOC, the seminar will focus on the working relationship between the cinematographer, camera operator, 1st AC, key grip and dolly grip when using dollies and jib arms.
The SOC will also be selling raffle tickets at its booth to raise money for the Vision Center at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.
From 2:30 p.m.-4 p.m. George Spiro Dibie, ASC will moderate a panel discussion with ASC cinematographers.
