Cut+Run has announced that editor Jen Dean has joined its roster of talent.
The native Texan won the first AICE Award for best editing in a music video as continues to work with long-time collaborator, Danny Clinch. Dean studied experimental cinema with Stan Brakhage and Phil Solomon in Boulder before assisting Hank Corwin for many years at Lost Planet. Music plays a large part in Dean’s approach to projects as well as a passion for storytelling that has led to work for clients that include Google, Instagram, The New York Times, Samsung and more. She’s also believes in the value of mentorship, working with a number of assistants to help the next generation of editors.
Cut+Run Editor/Partner Gary Knight made the following statement about the new addition to the roster: “Jen is a massive talent whose work reflects her originality, and while Jen’s incredible editing style makes her a great creative fit, it’s her dedication to community and nurturing young talent that makes her a natural addition to our team.”
“Cut+Run is thick with people I know and admire, and the work that comes from all of the locations is constantly outstanding,” said Dean about joining the team. “I look forward to when we can all be together, but already feel very connected which speaks volumes about the welcoming, creative culture.”
