MTI Film Appoints Randy Reck to Director of Product Development

Engineer and product specialist Randy Reck has joined MTI Film as director of product development. Reck will oversee product development, sales and marketing for CORTEX, the company’s line of dailies systems, DRS NOVA, its digital restoration package, and other software-based products. Reck’s background includes senior technology posts with Panavision, EFILM and Encore Hollywood.

“Randy has been at the forefront in developing new technologies and workflows to support digital cinema production and post,” said MTI Film CEO Larry Chernoff. “We will take full advantage of his expertise and insights as we continue to develop CORTEX and DRS NOVA, and extend their reach into new markets.”

Reck previously served as director, product management, digital workflow systems for Panavision. Among other things, he helped to design and implement Panavision’s large-format camera systems. Reck spent seven years as chief engineer at EFILM, where was the system architect for CinemaScan, its data-based dailies system that transformed workflows for feature film production. He began his career as an engineer with Encore Hollywood, where he supported systems for dailies processing, editing and color grading. He held a similar position with Santa Monica post house Riot.
