MTI Film to Introduce New Cortex Tools at NAB 2016

-

LR-CortexMTI Film will launch the latest version of its Cortex dailies and media management software at NAB 2016, with new features for IMF deliveries, dead pixel correction, Dolby Vision, 4K up-resing and editing, as well as UI improvements. Originally conceived as a streamlined dailies processing application, Cortex can now manage media from the set through delivery.

“Cortex goes beyond other media management and transcoding solutions,” said MTI Film director of development Randy Reck. “The new features for 2016 deliver a complete postproduction package.”

The new version of Cortex can create IMF delivery packages for Netflix, Sony and other distributors as well as AS02 packages for HBO. It can also output HDR video and control Dolby Color Management Unit hardware. In addition, users can upres HD sources to 4K with MTI HQ or MTI-Samsung UpRes.

Dead Pixel Detection, included in all Cortex editions, will alert production when a camera sensor has a fault. Dead Pixel Correction, a feature of Cortex Enterprise, will automatically find and repair dead pixels in edit masters as well as camera clips.

The latest version of Cortex also features an improved Project Manager with a global search tool so users can easily find and consolidate clips from different shoot days for revision and re-delivery to the editing room.

The software also offers new editing tools.
