ARRI is featuring the new Arri X Ceramic 250 and Studio Ceramic 250. Both lighting systems use the Philips ST 250 HR discharge lamp—a 4,000 hour lamp that produces a 3200°K Tungsten quality light, but at only 250W, ceramic fixtures produce significantly less heat than tungsten fixtures and are cool to the touch even in 24/7 operating environments. The Studio Ceramic 250 uses the housing and all the accessories of the popular ARRI Studio 1K Fresnel. The company is also introducing the new ArriMax 18/12—one of the most powerful HMI lights available. Designed for productions requiring maximum light output, the ArriMax uses a unique reflector concept for beam control that eliminates the need for spread lenses.VFGadgets will introduce Lenslite, a portable 6000K LED ringlight system designed for serious operators of HDV and the smaller-generation of film and video cameras. It provides a lightweight, balanced, controllable beauty light source or fill, combined with an integral filter tray housing. The on-board dimmer lets the operator make adjustments, as ambient lighting conditions change. The standard clamp ring is 110mm and step-down rings are available for most fixed barrel internal focus lenses from 105mm down to 77mm.Lenslite was developed by UK-based Gekko Technology, makers of the unique kisslite wireless dimmer, which can also be used to control one or more lenslites.Litepanels will introduce its new Mini 32. Based on the company’s trademark LED technology, the Mini 32 is ideal for illuminating interiors offering 3200K of warm, projected, soft output. The company reports that there has been a growing demand for a version of its Litepanels that meets the needs of tungsten color-temperature lighting.
