To promote comprehensive coverage of crew news across the country, Below the Line is initiating a monthly column featuring regional events, awards, and general news. Not only will crew be able to learn about film production information from their local, they’ll be able to keep abreast of reports from future on-location shoot areas.
The following briefs include announcements from regional film commissioners who attended the AFCI Locations Expo in Santa Monica last month. The AFCI (Association of Film Commissioners International) is the official worldwide film association of government film contacts. Drawing film commissions from all over the world, the AFCI Locations Trade show is the industry’s largest locations and location services exhibition. More than 120 film commissions were represented this year at AFCI’s 17th annual event. The exhibition is pivotal in encouraging film production in the represented regions.
