TVU Networks announces a new key European business partnership to supply its portfolio of IP video technologies to established Iceland-based reseller, Nyja Umbodid ehf. The new arrangement sees Nyja Umbodid ehf provide the Icelandic market with TVU Networks’ suite of technology to capture, transmit and distribute live video from anywhere in the world, over IP, to web and broadcast audiences. Nyja umbodid ehf has also closed its first sale of TVU equipment with The Icelandic National Broadcasting Service, or RUV.
TVU’s line of products and services are designed to take advantage of cost-effective and ubiquitous IP while automating key parts of the broadcast workflow that are traditionally manually handled for live video, including acquisition, production, distribution, management and digital media.
Nyja Umbodid ehf is an Icelandic dealer and distributor for high-end brand names including AVID, NewTek, MOG, Storage DNA, Magma, Waves, and now TVU Networks solutions. Nyja Umbodid ehf supports the growing needs of the Icelandic pro-audio and video market as well as broadcasting solutions.
Vilhjalmur Hjalmarsson, chief of sales & support at Nyja Umbodid ehf, commented, “There has been significant demand for high quality wireless and IP generated acquisition and distribution in Iceland. This also includes strong needs for internal signal routing, live-broadcasting and high performance web-based media delivery. We had been looking at this field for quite some time, but our recent meeting with TVU Networks pulled it all into focus. We are impressed with their increased commitment to and support for the European market and with their superior performance delivering content over IP, confirmed by the positive feedback from RUV, having made full use of its TVU equipment.”
Paul Shen, CEO of TVU Networks, commented, “We are excited to have Nyja Umbodid ehf as our official reseller for Iceland and are honored that RUV has selected TVU for its mobile live video uplink needs. Allying with resellers like Nyja Umbodid ehf will help strengthen our footprint and continued support for the EU region. We are committed to helping broadcasters with their IP live video content needs wherever they maybe in the world.”
